Thomas Litterst studied Communication Engineering at the Fachhochschule Offenburg (Germany) and solid state electronics at the University of Cincinnati (USA) and earned a Master of Sience degree. His career started as a research engineer in different companies. Since 2000 Thomas Litterst is working for the Hekatron Vertriebs GmbH in Sulzburg, Germany. After leading various R&D projects as a project manager in the research and development department he changed over to the product management. Today he is the head of standards and directives within the product management for the lines of business smoke alarms, door hold open systems and central fire alarm system. Mr. Litterst is a member of CEN TC 72, is convenor of several working groups and is also member of the mirror committee at DIN. Moreover he is participating in working groups at the Deutsche Kommission für Elektrotechnik.
