How to avoid the service monopoly trap in fire alarm systems Vortragssprache Deutsch

Two different system approaches can be found in the German fire alarm system market. On the one hand, systems, whose components (panels, detectors, alarm devices, etc.) are being produced and whose services (installation, maintenance, etc.) are being provided by the same company. Other companies / service providers are normally not granted access to these systems. That’s why these systems are also called “closed systems”. On the other hand, systems, which are explicitly designed right from the beginning to enable the interaction of products from different companies, including hardware as well as services. Due to their very high degrees of freedom with regards to system design and - very importantly - system servicing, these systems are called “open systems”. The presentation will describe the characteristics of both approaches with a clear focus on economy from the point of view of the end user.
