Happy reunion in Nuremberg: FeuerTrutz 2021 returns as in-person event

Following the highly successful re-start to exhibition activities at the NürnbergMesse venue, anticipation is running high in the fire protection sector: On 18-19 October 2021, FeuerTrutz, the International Trade Fair with Congress for Preventive Fire Protection, will finally be back as an in-person event with a digital add-on. The expectations are also high: 179 exhibitors, including 30 from outside Germany, will present their products, services and innovations covering all aspects of preventive fire protection in two exhibition halls. The need to interact after a lengthy interval is greater than ever. There are also strong bookings for the accompanying Congress for Preventive Fire Protection, organized by FeuerTrutz Network, with 900 participants taking part both on-site and digitally. The extensive supporting programme with live presentations and forums for knowledge transfer will once again help fire protection come to life. An online platform complements the in-person event and will also provide a way to include participants who are still unable to travel.

“After ten years of holding FeuerTrutz in Nuremberg, the pleasure of meeting there again in person at this year’s event couldn’t be any greater,” says Stefan Dittrich, Director FeuerTrutz, NürnbergMesse. “It’s a great feeling to be finally able to see new and familiar faces once again, to walk through the halls and experience the products up close.” It is what the sector has been looking forward to: Participation by 179 exhibitors from 18 countries illustrates the strength of the commitment shown by the fire protection sector to its platform, FeuerTrutz. In exhibition halls 10.0 and 10.1, fire protection experts will finally be able to discover innovations, talk with others and expand their knowledge once again, not only at the trade fair itself but also via the 40 lectures and discussion rounds in the Fire Protection Congress. “Once again this year, the Congress will provide the ideal platform for dialogue for experts to discuss the challenges of the fire protection sector,” observes André Gesellchen, Head of the Fire Protection Programme at FeuerTrutz Network. “We are looking forward to many exciting and up-to-the-minute themes – finally as an in-person event once again, and it will also be live-streamed online.”

Exhibitor forums with all speaker places filled

This is where exhibitors will have the floor for brief presentations to introduce their innovations and solutions and discuss the latest trends with the public: The two exhibitor forums, at the very centre of the show’s events in halls 10.0 and 10.1, will provide a broad range of opportunities for designers, certified experts and everyone else involved in fire protection to learn and expand their knowledge. Attendance at the forums is free for participants in the trade fair and congress.

The Fire Protection EXPERIENCE for the greatest “Wow” effect

One highlight of the supporting programme is the Fire Protection EXPERIENCE. Indoor demonstrations at the trade fair stands will be combined with the fire protection demonstration areas in the outdoor areas at the exhibition venue at 12:00 and 15:00, where spectacular presentations in the fire container will show products in practical application.

The future of fire protection: Young companies in focus

New this year is the specific encouragement of participation by start-ups and young companies at FeuerTrutz, made possible by the “Innovation made in Germany” pavilion sponsored by the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi). This pavilion provides a way for start-ups and young companies to introduce themselves to the professional community at FeuerTrutz and present their new product developments. The new world of fire protection awaits discovery in Hall 10.0.

Professional development and career opportunities at FeuerTrutz

The shortage of skilled personnel is a concern for many companies in the area of preventive fire protection. FeuerTrutz provides active assistance in this regard with formats such as the Training & Career Meeting Point and the Job Board. The Training & Career Meeting Point pavilion in Hall 10.1 is where many prominent training providers gather in one place to offer comprehensive information about various training and professional development opportunities in the fire protection industry. The FeuerTrutz Job Board lists vacancies that exhibitors are currently seeking to fill, and trade visitors can also use it to post job applications. The platform can be accessed online at www.feuertrutz-messe.de/jobboard, and can be found on-site in Hall 10.1.

BIM goes fire protection

The BIM Forum is all about the fascinating, future-oriented subject of Building Information Modelling. Professional contacts will present the use of BIM in their companies or exciting projects using BIM, and will discuss progress in this area in the context of preventive fire protection with industry professionals and other experts. Visitors to the Trade Fair and Congress can attend the BIM Forum at no cost. It will be held at stand 10.1-500 in Hall 10.1 on the first day of the event, 18 October 2021.

Fire Protection Congress focuses on current topics of interest

As usual, the Fire Protection Congress, organized by FeuerTrutz Network, will take place in the exhibition halls in NCC Mitte on both days in parallel with the product show. Prominent experts will speak on the key current issues relating to passive, active and organizational fire protection in 40 presentations divided into three parallel congress streams. With 900 participants attending in person and digitally, bookings for the Fire Protection Congress are strong once again this year. One of the key themes for the Congress in 2021 will be “Solutions for Special Buildings”, since this is an area that regularly poses particular challenges for planners, inspectors, implementing companies and operators. Further highlights in the programme are new options for multi-storey wooden structures, the 2021 Garage Ordinance (Garagen-Verordnung, GaVO) and e-mobility, practical hints for drawing up plans, and the law on fire protection and construction products. Presentations will also focus on handling deviations, simplifications, compensations and engineering methods in fire protection and thus on the prerequisites for a safe, economical and use-appropriate fire protection strategy.

Compact seminar “Fire Protection DIRECT – Extinguishing Technology“

The joint seminar by the Bundesverband Technischer Brandschutz (Federal Association for Technical Fire Protection, bvfa) and FeuerTrutz Network in NCC Mitte on 19 October 2021 expands the range of information offered by FeuerTrutz and also looks toward the future: What changes will new logistics projects bring, and what changes can be expected in automated warehouse systems, which will require appropriate protection strategies for extinguishing systems? The speakers will also introduce the latest updates to the regulations governing sprinkler systems. In addition to the important insights and experience relating to protecting rack systems using rack sprinklers, a further focus will be on the maintenance of sprinkler systems: What are the key points to remember for sprinkler system maintenance, and what are the differences between maintenance in accordance with VdS CEA 4001 and the data sheets from FM Global? A separate ticket is required for this event.

Digital platform complements the in-person event

Gathering information on exhibitors and products, participating in digital exhibitor presentations and round tables, making contact with other participants and exhibitors, and utilizing the smart “matchmaking” tool: all this is possible with the digital platform at FeuerTrutz 2021. This will enable visitors who are still unable to travel to take part in FeuerTrutz, and participants on-site can enjoy the ideal complement to their trade fair visit. The platform can already be used to schedule appointments with exhibitors and perfectly plan attendance at the trade fair in advance.

Comprehensive hygiene strategy ensures safety for all participants

The hygiene strategy for trade fairs has now been tried and tested many times over, and will of course apply to FeuerTrutz, enabling all participants to enjoy their visit in safety. The “TVR” principle (proof of Testing, Vaccination or Recovery) will be a condition of entry for both exhibitors and visitors, and the general rules on social distancing, hygiene and masks will apply at the venue.
