FeuerTRUTZ 2017: information on the latest developments for fire safety professionals
On 22 and 23 February 2017, fire safety professionals will gather at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg to learn about the latest developments in the sector at FeuerTRUTZ, Europe's largest trade fair for preventive fire protection. Companies, associations and training providers will present solutions for passive, active and organizational fire protection. Three months before the event, display area bookings have already exceeded last year's total and registrations are almost as high as the final figures from the previous event (244* in 2016). Featuring presentations, live demonstrations and the Training & Career Meeting Point, the supporting programme offers a wealth of information on fire protection design, technologies and careers. The theme of the accompanying Fire Protection Congress is "Fire Protection 4.0: Navigating Trends and Technology in Fire Safety" and explores the current challenges facing the fire protection sector.
For fire protection designers, certified experts, architects, building engineers and other fire safety professionals, FeuerTRUTZ has become the leading information platform for preventive fire protection. A large number of specialists and global players including Bosch, Honeywell and Siemens have registered for this seventh round of the event. "As well as companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, other international exhibitors will be represented," says Stefan Dittrich, Executive Director FeuerTRUTZ at NürnbergMesse, the organiser of the fair. Three Compact Seminars provide technical expertise
Three Compact Seminars offer additional know-how: In "Fire Protection in Interior Construction – Preventive Fire Protection for Construction Managers and Specialist Contractors" on the first day of the fair, speakers with practical experience will discuss issues like the changes relating to drywall construction in DIN 4102-4/A1 or billing as per ATV 18124 (general terms and conditions for building projects). The Compact Seminar "Fire protection in Bavaria” on Day 1 will explore changes in the Bavarian fire protection regulations affecting architects and representatives of agencies. It will focus for example on the consequences of the new MBO (Model Building Code), the administrative regulation Technical Building Code or fire protection in childcare centres. The "BRANDSCHUTZDIREKT” convention on extinguishing technology, supported by the bvfa (Federal Association for Technical Fire Protection), will take place on both days and will focus on issues relating to extinguishing systems, protection concepts and equipment solutions for special branches of industry.
Exhibitor Forums
In both exhibition halls, short presentations in the Exhibitor Forums provide an overview of innovations and trends. For example, exhibiting companies will provide information about integrated fire damper controls, CFD simulation for multi-storey/underground car parks or control technology for smoke and heat extraction and ventilation systems. The AGE Road Show (smoke extraction action group) will also return to the fair.
Larger Training & Career Meeting Point
A welcome enhancement for all visitors looking for training and professional development opportunities in fire safety occupations is the Training & Career Meeting Point. This popular pavilion will be bigger than ever at FeuerTRUTZ 2017 and will feature D-DESIGN SECURITY FORUM AG, Distance & Independent Studies Center DISC, EIPOS – European Institute for Post-Graduate Training, ISA International Security Academy, TAS – Technical Academy of the South-West, TÜV Rhineland Academy, testing and certification body VdS Loss Prevention and – for the first time in 2017 – training material provider Balzer Bildungskonzepte.
Fire Protection EXPERIENCE (ERLEBNIS Brandschutz) shows products in use
The Fire Protection EXPERIENCE offers impressive live demonstrations of fire protection. On an outdoor demonstration area and at the stands of participating exhibitors, fire safety professionals will provide a hands-on display of products in use. "Live demonstrations and presentations provide a realistic snapshot of the capacity of modern fire safety solutions,'' says Stefan Dittrich.

Fire Protection 4.0 congress theme
The prestigious FeuerTRUTZ Fire Protection Congress will take place concurrently with the fair. The theme of this year's congress programme is: "Fire Protection 4.0: Navigating Trends and Technology in Fire Safety". "Digitisation is also making inroads into fire protection. Better integration and data networking can support the synergies between technical and organisational measures but also present new challenges for the industry," explains congress organiser Günter Ruhe from FeuerTRUTZ Network. The FeuerTRUTZ Fire Protection Congress explores the current challenges for fire protection designers and other fire safety professionals. In three congress tracks, acknowledged experts will report, for example, on trends in fire control matrices and operating principle verification as well as exemplary fire protection concepts. Other topics include changes to the most important regulations like the Model Directive on Cable Systems (MLAR 2017), the implementation of the new Model Building Code (MBO), the administrative regulation Technical Building Code or the relationship between fire protection and occupational safety.
