Early fire detection on PV systems on industrial roof surfaces is crucial in order to minimize operational and production downtimes. However, the installation of conventional fire detectors is often expensive and makes the investment in the PV system uneconomical. Infrared camera systems are an economically viable solution as they require less installation work and reliably filter out interfering solar reflections.
