There are no Technical Building Regulations and no generally recognized rules of technology governing the use of mechanical smoke and heat exhaust devices. With the new VDMA standard sheet 24001, the application of smoke and heat exhaust devices is described in a universally valid manner. Why this is important: According to the Model Administrative Regulation on Technical Building Requirements (MVV TB), devices in accordance with DIN EN 12101‑3:2015 are mandatory—but until now, a recognized rule of technology has been lacking.
