FeuerTrutz, the international trade fair and congress for preventive fire protection, has had a director exhibitions since mid-May 2025: Phillip Blass has joined the team led by Stefan Dittrich, Executive Director Exhibitions. Dittrich retains overall responsibility for the FeuerTrutz, GaLaBau and HOLZ-HANDWERK trade fairs. In this interview, Blass talks about his new role, his perspective on the industry and the highlights of this year's trade fair.
Phillip, you're new to FeuerTrutz. How did you come to the trade fair and what makes it special for you?
I have many years of experience from the world of trade fairs as well as from other sectors. I was immediately impressed by FeuerTrutz - not only because of its clear focus, but also because of the social and economic relevance of preventive fire protection. I find the holistic approach to the topic at the trade fair particularly exciting: It brings together experts from a wide range of fire protection fields to jointly develop practical solutions. I am very much looking forward to continuing the success story of FeuerTrutz together with Stefan Dittrich and the team.
FeuerTrutz is only a couple weeks away. Where are you in the preparations - what characterises this year's FeuerTrutz and what should trade visitors know?
Preparations are in full swing. Visitor recruitment is in top gear, the supporting programme is being finalised and our exhibitors and service partners are well informed to ensure that everything runs smoothly. We are particularly proud of the fact that FeuerTrutz 2025 will be the largest in its history - both in terms of exhibition space and the variety of products on display. New formats such as the FeuerTrutz ARENA, a top-class congress programme and numerous live demonstrations on the action areas will offer a genuine trade fair experience and tangible added value for everyone involved. The evening event will also once again be a highlight - an ideal networking event for the entire industry. With the Education & Careers meeting point, we are also sending out a strong signal in favour of promoting young talent.
And what are your personal highlights at this year's FeuerTrutz? What are you looking forward to the most?
I am particularly looking forward to holding many personal discussions, making new contacts and networking with the players in the industry. FeuerTrutz offers the ideal opportunity to immerse yourself in the topic of fire protection and experience its diversity at first hand. My aim is to play an active role in the industry and help shape the further development of its meeting place in Nuremberg.
