Power interview: Modern fire protection planning using engineering verification methods

Fire protection planners are very familiar with the relevant legal regulations and can usually work within these guidelines. However, there are also projects in which the fulfilment of the protection objectives must be verified using engineering procedures. Such a verification procedure can be carried out using computer-aided simulations (fire simulation, evacuation simulation, thermal analysis). However, the proper and effective application of engineering methods requires extensive and specialised expertise and many years of experience. 

This talk will explain what engineering methods in fire protection are, how they are applied, what advantages they bring and how smaller planning offices can also access fire and evacuation simulations economically.
