For the tenth anniversary of FeuerTrutz, the International Trade Fair with Congress for Preventive Fire Protection, the pleasure of meeting again in person was palpable: 180 exhibitors and more than 3,500 visitors were finally able to gather once again in Halls 10.0 and 10.1 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg to network, learn, and experience new developments in passive, active and organizational fire protection solutions first-hand. The in-person event was complemented by an online platform with 1,200 digital users. Access at the entrances with e-tickets and observance of the “TVR” principle (proof of Testing, Vaccination or Recovery) was quick and uncomplicated, and everyone accepted and practised the hygiene plan at the venue. The parallel Fire Protection Congress, organized by FeuerTrutz Network, proved highly successful with 900 participants, both in-person and digitally. The next FeuerTrutz will be held at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg in just over six months from now, on 29-30 June 2022.

More than 3,500 fire protection designers, certified experts, construction engineers, architects, official agency staff and others involved in fire protection spent the last two days meeting 180 exhibitors from the fields of passive, active and organizational fire protection at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The Exhibition and Congress also attracted 1,200 digital users. The pleasure felt by all participants in finally being able to meet again in person at their industry platform was palpable. FeuerTrutz 2021 combined the familiar extensive market overview with a range of unique experiences. “It was a celebration!” says Stefan Dittrich, Director FeuerTrutz at NürnbergMesse. “The feeling of seeing our exhibition halls back in action again at last and experiencing just how much everyone needed to interact after this lengthy interval was indescribable. We’d like to thank all the exhibitors, visitors and participants for their commitment to FeuerTrutz.” The parallel Fire Protection Congress organized by FeuerTrutz Network, with 900 participants, once again focused on the latest challenges and trends in preventive fire protection. “Continuous professional development is crucial when it comes to fire protection,” says André Gesellchen, Head of the Fire Protection Programme at FeuerTrutz Network. “The response to the 40 top-level presentations at the Fire Protection Congress was outstanding, which highlighted the value of this event within the sector.”

Plenty on offer in the supporting programme

The supporting programme at FeuerTrutz 2021 combined fascinating events with the latest professional knowledge. The two exhibitor forums were both fully booked, and gave exhibitors the opportunity to present their innovations and solutions, as well as discussing the latest trends with the public. An absolute highlight in the supporting programme was the Fire Protection EXPERIENCE demonstration area in the outdoor area of the exhibition venue, involving spectacular live product demonstrations in realistic deployment scenarios. The Training & Career Meeting Point pavilion was where many prominent training providers gathered in one place to offer comprehensive information about various training and professional development opportunities in the fire protection industry. Exhibitors were able to post current job vacancies on-site using the Job Board, while the BIM Forum was all about the fascinating, future-oriented subject of Building Information Modelling. The “Innovation made in Germany” pavilion, sponsored by the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), gave start-ups and young companies the opportunity to introduce themselves to the professional community and present their new product developments.

Fire Protection Congress focuses on current topics of interest

As usual, the Fire Protection Congress, organized by FeuerTrutz Network, took place in the exhibition halls in NCC Mitte on both days in parallel with the product show, with a special focus on “Solutions for Special Buildings”. Prominent experts spoke on the key current issues relating to passive, active and organizational fire protection in 40 presentations divided into three parallel congress streams. Highlights were new options for multi-storey wooden structures, the 2021 Garage Ordinance (Garagen-Verordnung, GaVO) and e-mobility, practical hints for drawing up plans, and the law on fire protection and construction products. With 900 participants attending in person and digitally, bookings for the Fire Protection Congress were strong once again this year.
